The location of the earthquake was felt at the coordinate point of 8.15 LS, 107.88 BT and was centered in 62 kilometers southwest of Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java with a depth of 21 kilometers. The earthquake was felt in Sukabumi, Garut, Tasikmalaya and Ciamis. "The earthquake lasts for about five to 10 seconds," said Ahmad Hikayat, 23, a resident of Jalan Bhayangkara, Sukabumi City. At the time of the earthquake he was in the middle of his house. When the earthquake took place he had tried to leave the house. However, because the earthquake was short, Ahmad returned to his house again. The tremor was also felt by Dila Novianti (23), a resident of Tipar, Citamiang District, Sukabumi City. He claimed to have been surprised because the vibration was quite strong. However, it only lasts a while and does not cause damage. The tremor was also felt by other residents in Sukabumi District. One of them is Siti Septia Ningsih (21) who lives in Sasagaran Village, Sasagaran Village, Kebonpedes Subdistrict, Sukabumi Regency. "The earthquake feels strong but doesnt last long," he said. According to Siti, during the earthquake, the Sukabumi area was in heavy rain. As a result, residents feel it and others dont. On the other hand, until now the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of the City of Sukabumi is still monitoring the impact of the earthquake centered in Tasikmalaya.
