SURABAYAPAGI.com, Jakarta - There are many factors underlying the love of actress and singer Maudy Ayunda for books. One of the things she remembered was the lack of television in her house when she was still a toddler.
Instead, little Maudy often spends time on games that involve a lot of motion, or take a walk outside the home. The other main entertainment is books.
"I started studying books for three years," Maudy said at a media gathering in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Her enthusiasm in learning to read made her fall in love with the world of literacy. At the age of 10, Maudy even began writing stories that were finally polished and will be published as illustrated childrens books titled Kina and Her Fluffy Bunny.
This will be the first childrens book as well as the opening edition of Kinas Story which consists of four titles. One by one will be published in 2019.
The four books were taken from a collection of stories Maudy composed when she was young with changes here and there. Including equating the names of different characters into one character, Kina.
"Thats the name I chose when I was 10 years old, so I keep it (from various changes)," said Maudy.
Kinas name was chosen for a simple reason, because it sounds simple, like an Indonesian name, easily pronounced and that is important because Maudy really likes it. rk
