SURABAYAPAGI.com, Jakarta - The Indonesian President, Joko Widodo, started the activities in 2019 by exercising. President Jokowi also greeted residents around the Bogor Botanical Gardens, West Java, Tuesday.
The Deputy of Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Bey Machmudin, said that the 2019 New Year holiday was used by President Jokowi to jog and greet residents around the Bogor Botanical Gardens. In his statement quoted by Antara on Tuesday, Bey said Jokowi appeared relaxed wearing training pants and a black jacket and sneakers.
"President Jokowi started jogging at around 13:30 WIB," said Bey.
From his residence at Wisma Bayurini, the President jogged to the Bogor Botanical Gardens area. Along the road he passed, the President greeted the people who were on the move, whether they were exercising or just gathering with their families.
Seeing the Head of State, residents flocked to him to shake hands and take pictures. "Happy new year sir. Healthy, yes," said one resident.
"Yes, thank you," answered the President. After exercising and interacting with the community for one hour, the President returned to his residence at around 14:45 WIB. rk
