SURABAYAPAGI.com - One view that has recently been shown by a number of Umrah members is to publish support and political calls to win one of the pairs of presidential candidates and vice-presidential candidates in the holy land. Can you bring political affairs while in the holy land and during the period of performing Umrah rituals?
The Fatwa institution of Dar al-Ifta Egypt, underlining what was meant by political activity was a practical political invitation to win one of the candidates or seize the seat of power.
According to this institution which Sheikh Syauqi Ibrahim al-Allam had led, practical political activity during the pilgrimage or giving up in the above sense is not permissible in the eyes of religion.
Some of the illegitimate reasons for carrying out practical politics while in the holy land, Makkah and Madinah, especially during Umrah and Hajj are as follows:
· "And (among the hypocrites) there are people who set up mosques to cause harm (to believers), to disbelief and to divide between believers and wait for the arrival of those who have fought Allah and His Apostle long ago. They verily swear: "We do not want but good." And Allah is a witness that they are liars (in their oath). (QS at-Taubah [9]: 107). In the book Ahkam al-Quran, al-Jasshash said that what is meant in this verse is to divide Muslims into their mosques, giving rise to hatred and differences between Muslims.
· Practical political activity at the time of Hajj or Umrah is a form of disobedience and illicit according to the Sharia, it can even be classified as a major sin.
· Practical political activities during Umrah or Hajj will damage the sincerity of worship. Those who exploit their pilgrimage or umrah have the potential to lose the essence and substance of their worship. "And complete the Hajj and Umrah for Allah." (Surat al-Baqarah [2]: 196). In a rare manuscript, Ibn Suwaids Juzat fi Ihd al-Jumat bi Madrasat, emphasized those who want worldly goals by mixing with religious matters, such as riya , pride, or other worldly purposes, at least the charity will fall, or take prohibited actions. Therefore, he should not do such a thing and keep away his desires during worship.
· Practical political activities during the Umrah and Hajj services will explore the worship itself. This is contrary to the guidance of Allah SWT to glorify the Hajj and Umrah Sharia in the holy land. "Thus (the command of Allah). And whoever glorifies the syiar-syiar of Allah, then indeed it arises from the piety of the heart. "(Surat al-Hajj [22]: 32). rk
